Dill Gourmet Cafe: A New Whole Level of Breakfast

Just this morning, I planned on going to the Japanese Embassy with my family. I planned on asking several questions about scholarships available, and since it opened at 13.30, we decided to get some bites in Plaza Indonesia for breakfast.

Having heard of Dill Gourmet Cafe not too long ago via Instagram, I was very interested in it and actually had given some thought on going there with my friends in this Lebaran holiday. And I was beyond excited when my wish is fulfilled too quickly; which was today! YAYYY!! xDD

I suppose this place is quite new, but brush that aside. This place has its own unique ambiance, and it's quite antique! Due to its use of wood for most of the decoration, I'm loving this place so far!

When I first saw this place, I was like 'holy macaroni, is this place going to be expensive?' etc etc. But very surprisingly, they got affordable pricing after I checked their menu boards. Really, I was beyond surprised at first, but that was a complete, utter surprise yo! Suitable for those who wants a good and affordable meal!

Brief view of their cake display

One thing to note here, they serve foods that are ready to be heated (I didn't capture the boxed-food area, whoops). Meaning, this cafe is not your typical cafe-with-the-kitchen here. Some people, like my mom, already said that these look like cheap food. I can totally understand that, since well, generally Asian people (not being racist here, but it's sort of the truth) consider boxed meal as cheap food.

But well, you can't judge a book by its cover, can't you? And their boxed meal are equally as delicious as any cooked meals!

Red Sunshine Iced Tea
First thing first; the drink! It's Red Sunshine Iced Tea, and after I saw that apple and cranberry are in this tea, I just have to order it. Personally, it's my favorite combination for an iced tea. This drink from Dill Gourmet definitely did the justice! It was sweet yet the sourness didn't overpower too much, which is an absolute refresher!

Mesquite Chicken Sandwich
After I saw the word 'smoked chicken' as the sandwich's ingredient, I was immediately lured in and directly ordered this sandwich. This one, as you can see from the sticker, is Mesquite Chicken Sandwich. Although I didn't quite taste the smoked taste of the chicken, but what can I say? This one sandwich is too good to be true. I didn't captured the sandwich though, but I'll leave it to your imagination. ;)

Since they are having their promotion, in which you'll get 50% off on desserts if you purchase their tea/coffee. We got 2 cakes of our choice since we ordered 2 iced tea, and DESSERTS FOR BREAKFAST IS LEGIT~!

Peach with Pistachio Cream Cake (33k)
This baby over here, Peach with Pistachio Cream Cake, is really the satisfaction of the morning. It was creamily light, and the peach did its job as the natural sweetener. What I really like from this cake is how this cake is not heavy and it made me crave for more. The cake is thick, which was quite worth every single penny. And also, it has pistachio pieces in the middle cream of the cake! :D

Hazelnut Praline Dacquoise (33k)
Dacquoise has been something that I've always wanted to try. Due to the immense food porn in my IG stream (including dacquoise), I finally got the chance to try one. And I'm glad this one didn't disappoint. The creaminess level was a little too much though, but nevertheless, it was quite a treat. By this point, I was too full even for lunch.

But no, no regrets! :)

So, overall Dill Gourmet Cafe is a perfect place for some weekend relax time, or maybe, for students to do their projects and homework. You can have either breakfast and/or lunch in here by yourself or with friends or family.

Thank you so much for today's awesome breakfast, Dill Gourmet! 'Till next time! :)
