Sweet-Tooth Edition: Garcon's Pastries & Tokyo Banana

In my family, I've always being known as the 'sweet-tooth' of the family. Whenever there's cakes or pastries, I just have to get one of them in my belly. Added the fact that I will not grow fat if I eat a lot, I shall abuse this power of mine :) (loljk I have my own limits)

Having attended my friend's sweet seventeen birthday in a hotel last night, I didn't join my family who went to Plaza Senayan while waiting for me. After I had previously experienced a lunch experience in Garcon, I was attracted to their pastry line. The pastry line is handled by Pastry Chef Masaaki Konno, and I've always liked Japanese pastry line since they're elegant yet sweet at the same time. I didn't get to try some since I didn't have quite enough money to get some. So, since I didn't want to miss this golden chance, I requested my mom to get some of their pastry line home.

Turns out, my family bought 3 of them home. And boy, I was beyond happy after finding it out.

[Clockwise, starting from the bottom] Cookies & Cream Cheesecake, Caramel La Religieuse, Caramel Roll Cake (slice) (Price range: 30k -  50k)
Although I was a little bit disappointed due to the lack of fruity variation, there was caramel in those two pastries, so I didn't mind. :) Caramels are like my weak point, especially if they're chewy >< I put the in the freezer so the quality will, at least, still remain. At least, that's what my friends told me. But I got nagged by my parents in return. Oops.

Anyways, I tried the Religieuse one first, since my dad said it was for me (thanks, daddy!). First, I ate the upper pastry ball. It was filled with a sort-of vanilla cream, and it has an almost ice cream consistency when taken out from the freezer, which is quite legit. It has the fresh impression in your tongue (although we bought it yesterday and ate it in the morning).

Upon reaching the second layer, there is a twist; CARAMEL! It was placed in the middle of the pastry, with the vanilla cream surrounding it. While the vanilla cream is satisfyingly light, the caramel cream is just PERFECT. It's not your typical commercial caramel, mind you. The caramel cream in here is just so freshly made! It has that deep flavor in it, though it sort of overpowered the vanilla cream's taste.

My brother got himself the Cookies & Cream Cheesecake, and upon trying it, it taste quite decent. Gotta admit though, the cake is quite light. So for those who don't like their cake to be too sugary, this might be perfect for you!

Last one is the Roll Cake. Oh, and caramel inside! xDD What a real treat! I'm not going to deny it, but the sponge is unbelievable fresh. It's quite airy, and really soft. The cream is also decent, but the caramel. Oh the caramel.

What can I say? I'm in cloud nineee~!!

Enough on my blabbering (or I might write an essay on how good the caramel was). Garcon, you amazed me once again. :)

Tokyo Banana ROAR (Caramel)

Next one in line, Tokyo Banana! They comes out in different taste and variation, so yaayy for the many options! :)) This is considered a must-souvenir if you go to Japan, sort of their trademark souvenir, if you may. And if I wasn't mistaken, they only last for 1 week, hence the short expiry date and why they didn't open branches outside Japan.

Seriously, this baby over here is super gorgeous, and this is my birthday present from my dear friends Jessica and Felicia :). I haven't tried this before asdf, so I asked them to bring some as presents :).

I love the smell. I love the airy texture. I love the creamy banana cream. I love every inch of this cake. AMG can I marry this fabulous cake, please? *u*

Gorgeous baby is gorgeous

That's all for the sweet-tooth edition. I might be posting some more sweet-tooth edition posts in the future, so for the other sweet-tooth people out there; stay tuned and you better watch out for more food porn! ^^ *evul smirk*
