So I just ended up snapping the food and didn't snap this restaurant's beautiful and sophisticated interior. Note to self: visit this place again, somewhere near the future.
This restaurant has two menus. One for brunch and one for dinner, but the drink menu is all the same. I'm in love with the menu design! It's simple but it's attractive enough, and it only have two main colors, which are black and brown. But to me, the lesser the better. I just don't like a menu with too much colors on it; my eyes would bleed! xD
Since we're here to try out some of their dishes, we went for 5 dishes (I didn't manage to snap one of them ><, and the other was in a quite bad quality). They were all eggs-based, so yeah, eggs in all 4 of them! :D
Crabs Patty Benny (85k) |
First off; Eggs Benedict! Since this is quite popular in here, my dad went for that one. They provide the fillings for the Eggs Benny, and for that, we went for the crabs patty. Oh, and the filling affects the final price of the Eggs Benny. Hence the reason why the Eggs Benny that we had is quite expensive.
I love the fact that the crabs patty has that 'melt-in-ya-mouth' effect. It tasted so good, that even my brother mistaken it for a dory patty. On the other hand, the Hollandaise sauce was superb! :) It wasn't that creamy enough, but I wished it could be a little more thicker in taste. The English muffin got an OK from me. Overall, I liked the whole presentation, and also the best Eggs Benedict I had so far. Yum! :9
For the next round, we had a simple Barbecue Pork Belly. It looked simple yet sophisticated at the same time, and this was my first time eating a pork belly as well. Upon first bite, I liked how soft the meat was, and how the sauce complimented the pork belly quite well. It has a hint of sweetness, and at that moment, I craved for more of it.
That's just how good it was, really. Plus, the egg was cooked nicely; exactly how I wanted it to be.
The next one was this gorgeous Spanish Eggs. Since I didn't get to eat the whole thing (the dishes were shared among us 4), I only tried some of it. I ate the eggs and tomatoes altogether, and it was quite decent for me. The bread was decent all the same, but overall, it was so-so.
The other two dishes are Veggie Omelette (45k) and Smoked Beef Pizza (65k) (we only tried the pizza for some 'test-drive', hehe). I didn't get to try the omelette, since it was my brother's (and he never liked sharing food with others, except to my mom ==). But he said that the omelette was quite soft, so well I sort of followed what he said about it.
The pizza (picture can be found in my Instagram) was SO GOOD. The pizza's base was crispy, which to me, tasted like crackers (lol don't judge mee). There were smoked beef on it, but I didn't realize it due to the cheese's creaminess. And the cheese, gawd. Don't even make me start on the cheese. It was so gooey when I took out a slice from it, which I loved very much, and it tastes really good. The price, although was surprisingly expensive, was quite worth it. ME GUSTA.
One thing that I have to note is the size of the lemon tea we had. It was priced at 23k, and when we questioned the expensive price, the large size of the cup answered all of our questions. I really do think that the drink was worth it, since the size is considerably LARGE.
Overall, although I didn't get to enjoy much due to the rainy weather, the food made it all up. It was almost like a breakfast feast for me, though. Since all had eggs on it, that's why. Common People, although located at the 'almost-secluded' part of a busy area, remains one of my favorite place in Kemang.
Despite the rainy day, thank you for the comfort and bliss that you've offered to us, Common People! I'll definitely come again! :))
