Magnum Cafe: More Than Just Chocolate

Absolutely late post! xD I was too busy to even open my computer yesterday, so I'll post it now! :)

So, on last Sunday afternoon, I got the chance to visit Magnum Cafe for the very first time. Magnum is my all-time favorite ice cream bars, and I always bought the Almond one since it's just too good! :9 When it first opened like years ago, I didn't have the chance to visit the cafe since the waiting line was far too long.

And yes, finally I got to this place! And the cafe was moved to an entirely bigger space, so it was worth the wait as well, I suppose.

Upon entering the cafe, I have to say that I love the atmosphere and the way they designed the place. Magnum Cafe is a member of the big Ismaya Group, and as you can expect, they designed everything flawlessly. From the interior, decorations, and to their menu design. They're really pretty to look at!

Since this is also another of Ismaya Group's creation, I honestly had high hopes for their Magnum Cafe. So, let's directly delve into their food! :)

Salmon de la Mer (75k)
This thing is quite decent, and the whole presentation got an OK for me. It was a bit messy, though. The salmon was a bit too salty for my liking, and the mashed potatoes had that kind of 'Indian-cooking' taste. The  salmon was rather fresh, but not the mashed potatoes. It was as if they had frozen the mashed potatoes before and just heat it up in the microwave or something, before the whole dish is served. Usually, you can tell if the dish is 'fresh' or not by looking at the faint smoke arising from the food.

But nope, I didn't see any in this dish.

Definitely not gonna order this in the future. :|

The dessert! (35k)
I quickly jumped to the dessert, and I chose the one above. I forgot what is the name of this dessert, but nevertheless I got attracted by the illustration in the menu, so I ordered that one. The macaroon was big and double the usual size of macaroon, and there was strawberry jelly inside! It was so good, and it was not overly sweet. My mom liked it immediately, and so we shared the macaroon. :P

Oh, and the small cup contains liquid chocolate. You can pour the liquid on the ice cream, and it will become solid in just a matter of seconds. Also, the ice cream bar was not the plain vanilla one; it got strawberry swirls in it. A nice twist, I must say.

On the other note, I think I'm addicted on pouring the chocolate all over it, LOL. xD

Me having fun with the liquid chocolate :P
Overall impression?

I'm lovin' it! :) Although the salmon was a bit of a disappointment for me, but the dessert made it up. I think their menu is mostly about...chocolate. Seriously. And I'm guessing that's why their desserts are probably better than their main courses, I suppose?

But yes, I haven't tried their other available desserts in the menu, so I'm definitely coming to this place again for the desserts!

WOHOO!
