A Hiatus

Hello readers and silent-readers alike!

You may or may not have noticed my absence of posting reviews in these past weeks, but anyway. I've been quite busy lately, and since I'm an IB student (grade 12!), life is a torture for me since I have quite a lot of work to do before term break starts on October. So this means I might not be able to put reviews up here in my blog due to my busy schedule.

Really sorry about that.

Anyways, I'm planning to put this blog on hiatus until term break starts. Maybe I might post some after the hiatus, maybe not. It, again, depends on how many work I'll get during the term break (ahahah .___.). But for now, I'll put this on hiatus until around October. I'm prioritizing my school first, so I really hope that all of you can understand :)

You don't know how much I want to put up some reviews on restaurants that I've visited in these past weeks, seriously.

Peace out!

Beatrice Quarters: All the Pinks and Pastels

For Jakartans, it is an undeniable fact that Pantai Indah Kapuk (or PIK) is the 'Golden Mine' for foodies all around Jakarta. Or 'Heaven'. Or....whatever you want to call it as.

Especially this very place named Rukan Crown.

They got every types of dishes there, really. That place is like a collection of every kinds of dishes, no joke. From the modern Western dishes like BBQ, steak, pasta, and the likes, to the authentic Asian dishes such as noodles, sushi, and many more. Every restaurants have their own unique dishes, and for some, it might be somehow the same with one and another (e.g. sushi restaurants just blocks away from another). Not to mention, bubble tea shops.

Yeah, you get my point.

Dill Gourmet Cafe: A New Whole Level of Breakfast

Just this morning, I planned on going to the Japanese Embassy with my family. I planned on asking several questions about scholarships available, and since it opened at 13.30, we decided to get some bites in Plaza Indonesia for breakfast.

Having heard of Dill Gourmet Cafe not too long ago via Instagram, I was very interested in it and actually had given some thought on going there with my friends in this Lebaran holiday. And I was beyond excited when my wish is fulfilled too quickly; which was today! YAYYY!! xDD

I suppose this place is quite new, but brush that aside. This place has its own unique ambiance, and it's quite antique! Due to its use of wood for most of the decoration, I'm loving this place so far!

Sweet-Tooth Edition: Garcon's Pastries & Tokyo Banana

In my family, I've always being known as the 'sweet-tooth' of the family. Whenever there's cakes or pastries, I just have to get one of them in my belly. Added the fact that I will not grow fat if I eat a lot, I shall abuse this power of mine :) (loljk I have my own limits)

Having attended my friend's sweet seventeen birthday in a hotel last night, I didn't join my family who went to Plaza Senayan while waiting for me. After I had previously experienced a lunch experience in Garcon, I was attracted to their pastry line. The pastry line is handled by Pastry Chef Masaaki Konno, and I've always liked Japanese pastry line since they're elegant yet sweet at the same time. I didn't get to try some since I didn't have quite enough money to get some. So, since I didn't want to miss this golden chance, I requested my mom to get some of their pastry line home.

Common People Eatery & Bar: Brunch on Rainy Day

I heard of this place not too long ago from a friend of mine, and so I persuaded my parents to bring us there after church. To be very honest, I really really want to snap so many photos of this wonderful place, but well, the weather didn't really support my needs. Ugh.

So I just ended up snapping the food and didn't snap this restaurant's beautiful and sophisticated interior. Note to self: visit this place again, somewhere near the future.

Lady Alice Tearoom: With a Touch of Wonderland

I was so excited for today since me and my friend (I called her my twin since...we have lots of similar interests, BUT ANYWAY) planned on watching Pacific Rim with IMAX in Gandaria City. Since Pacific Rim is in my list of 'most anticipated movie of 2013' (I'm a technology freak, mind you, and Guillermo del Toro directed to movie, for heaven's sake!), I just wanted to watch it in IMAX 3D so bad! Not going to spoil anything here, but my expectations (which were rather high) were met, and I'm still having this technological-awesomeness FEELS in my head ^^

It is highly recommended to watch this in IMAX, and I assure you, it's worth every single penny. NO REGRETS. :))

Anyways, an amazing movie must be equaled with amazing food before watching the movie, am I right? B)

Magnum Cafe: More Than Just Chocolate

Absolutely late post! xD I was too busy to even open my computer yesterday, so I'll post it now! :)

So, on last Sunday afternoon, I got the chance to visit Magnum Cafe for the very first time. Magnum is my all-time favorite ice cream bars, and I always bought the Almond one since it's just too good! :9 When it first opened like years ago, I didn't have the chance to visit the cafe since the waiting line was far too long.

And yes, finally I got to this place! And the cafe was moved to an entirely bigger space, so it was worth the wait as well, I suppose.

Food-tastic Day: Eat and Eat Again

Holiday is always the perfect time to go and gain yourself some weight, am I right? At the end of the day, my tummy is just full with all the meals I've consumed in a day, but I'm happy.

I REGRET NOTHING. AT ALL. xD

For today, I pulled my friend and my lil brother along to Plaza Senayan (again, lol) for some 'food-testing'. Agreed that we will meet up at 12, my friend arrived later than we were. The actual plan was that we're going to eat at Nannini for lunch and proceed to desserts at either Garçon or TWG Tea Salon & Boutique, with the latter opened months ago, I think. But we cancelled the Nannini one since, again, pricing problems, and we went to Garcon for lunch.

Sunday Morning: A Simple Delight

In our family, it is an unspoken tradition that on every Sunday morning before church starts, we always eat noodle for breakfast. When I say noodles, I meant those noodles cooked from street's stalls. This 'tradition' had started ever since I was very small, and everyday, the noodles I ate for breakfast came from different stalls, so Sunday morning's breakfast was never boring.

Through that tradition, both of my parents know many noodle stalls around Jakarta. At least that's what I think it is, since in a month, we always ate noodles from at least 3 different stalls. And it continues until now, which is good.

Union: Once-in-a-Lifetime Dining Experience

Coming from a not-so rich family, eating out in lavish restaurants is like a once-in-a-lifetime experience. You know, restaurants that charged prices that actually drains your wallet, aka. around 50k-100k rupiahs and those are very expensive, personally for me. As a foodie myself, the only thing that keeps me from actually spending money on those is collecting food pictures from websites and just...look at them. One by one.
